Second try for the little Scorpion feller.

Scorpion dragons are a not to big species of dragon, and are named after their scorpion like appearance, with their bonelike armor and their stinger. Scorpion dragons are very aggressive, and don’t care about their eggs, or sometimes, when food is scarce, they even eat their eggs and hatchlings.
Appearance
Scorpion dragon are, as I said, not to big, and have a stinger on their tail. They have armor plates all over their bodies, and have a full set of four pairs of horns on their heads. One big pair standing forward (like normal horns), two pairs of small horns at the side of their heads, and another big pair of horns around their jaws (see sketch for how the horns look like).
They are black on their back, and brown on their belly. They don’t have wings, and have large canines. They are venomous, and the deadly venom is stored in their canines, the lowest horns, and the stinger on the tail.
Descriptions
I just tried it, because science lesson was boring.
Egg: This egg is covered with big scales.
Hatchling S1: Aww… It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to be rather aggressive.
Hatchling S2: And look! It has grown big scales. It must be close to maturing.
Adult: Scorpion dragons are a not too big species of dragons. They are armed with a deadly venom, which is stored in their stinger, their canines, and their lower horns.

And my sketch:

They should look like this. No gender difference.

Yeah, right. scratch

Post  PhazonDragon Sat Nov 20, 2010 2:27 pm

On one of those rare moments where Rafael was down by the feeding pens, the historian had a notepad and pencil in hand. He leaned on the fence of the feeding grounds, and was scribbling notes down like a mad man. The dragons--they were so fascinating, how they moved, walked, flew, and interacted. The German’s blue eyes were staring out over the feeding pens as he watched each dragon find its breakfast. Of course, that was a bad idea, but the dedicated historian didn’t think of that at this time.

He watched with horror as a large blue dragon tackled his prey ungracefully, pinning the beast to the ground, and ripping into the downed prey’s throat. “Ugh...” he blanched, turning pale as the color drained from his face. “Not... A good idea.” Rafael’s hand jumped to his mouth. There was the distinct sound of splattering insides as another dragon decided to shake its prey, holding it above the ground. “Oooh...” he moaned, his head falling forward as he stared at the ground.

Why did this seem like a good idea...? Rafael had no clue. He rested his forehead on the worn wood of the fence and breathed deeply, trying to rid his mind of the mental images and sounds. Maybe it was a good thing he didn’t have a dragon, or a wher for that matter. He had heard they were worse, since they were more brutish than dragons. Fire lizards, the historian could deal with. It was the large scale of things that set his stomach on edge. As if hearing the German’s thoughts, Totenkopf winked out of between above his head.

The brown flitter chirped, circling the historian’s head before landing on the wooden fence. He gripped the wood with his tiny claws, and inched forward to nose Rafael. The brown licked at the German’s ear, before deciding he wasn’t going to move, and crawled on top of his head. Satisfied at his current placement, the brown crooned, sitting back down on his haunches.

“Totenkopf... Get off my head...” Rafael groaned through a bout of nausea. But the flitter didn’t move, and Rafael didn’t seem to be in any state to move the fire lizard on his own. The historian continued to breathed deeply, putting his whole weight on the sturdy fence, and nearly dropping his pencil through his fingers. His notepad was still in his other hand, and the spiral edge threatened to scratch at his face if he wasn’t careful when he moved.

As you step over the threshold, you suddenly find yourself in an odd, but wonderful world filled with many magnificent creatures. However, this world seems... Divided for some reason. There appears to be four different nations that each hold a different array of animals particular to that nation. This certainly seems to peak your interest. You examine each nation and come to find that every creature is born from an egg. Each and every egg is unique in their shape, color, and size depending on the species. Suddenly, you are hit with inspiration! Many of these animals have yet to be seen by outsiders and you want to provide the opportunity for those outside to see these magnificent beasts. What better way to do that than to start a zoo?

Before starting, you ask yourself "What nation do I want to represent?" All of them are equally amazing with amazing creatures within them, but which to choose? Do you want to affiliate with the Fire Nation, where the beautiful and mysterious Dragon presides to heat up your zoo? Perhaps the Earth Kingdom with the powerful and sturdy Badgermole is more your forté? No? Then perhaps you would prefer one of the four Air Temples, where the loyal and intelligent Sky Bison roams the sky? Maybe the snow and ice of the two Water Tribes with their swift and speedy Otter Bear catches your interest? Whichever you choose, be sure to choose well and carefully.

Now that you have chosen your nation, it is time to expand your zoo and make some cash! There are many places for you to explore to collect creatures. You will then proceed to hatch and breed your animals to expand your zoo even further!

Your journey will take you across the globe, where you will encounter pirates who will sell you items and animals to help you on your journey, complete quests to gain more creatures for your zoo, come across a lonely little island that contains nothing but a shack where others leave creatures they no longer want, and a Trading Post where you can buy and put your creatures on the market.

All of this sounds exciting and fun right? To start your very own journey, simply register with the "Register" button and be sure to input and check your e-mail to get started and rise to the challenge!

The quest is simple, but the journey is harder. Will you be able to fulfill your dream of having a complete zoo filled with every breed of creature? Only you can answer that question by starting your own Avadopts zoo and taking that journey.

O.o XD

What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V? - Page 4 Empty Re: What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V?

Post  PhazonDragon Tue Nov 23, 2010 5:59 pm

[ooc: Nope. I dun mind. It’s open for a reason. :D]

The weyrwoman was visiting the infirmary, and Doctor Krenshaw thought it would be appropriate to make his way towards her. “Weyrwoman,” he greeted the higher-ranked lady, dipping his head respectfully. “Yes, he has been waking up. He hasn’t been moved since arriving, and that’s fine. It’s better not to move him anyway, with a head injury like that. His blue has been worried, but thankfully not protective.” The doctor said all this in a low whisper as well, figuring that if Faizah was going it, he might as well.

“You can visit if you like,” he suggested, figuring that knowing the Weyrwoman was worried for him would somehow help the weyrling. “Just be mindful of his head. Loud noises are bad, and the blue tends to tense up when people approach without warning. Make sure he knows that you’re coming before you approach.” He stepped to the side, allowing Weyrwoman Faizah further inside. “And don’t feel offended if he falls asleep,” the doctor added quickly.

* * *

From his position, Ku’rt could see the entrance of the infirmary, and he noticed Faizah was there, recognizing her distinctive red hair, talking with someone else. He couldn’t make out what they were saying, or doing, since the weyrling’s eyelids were heavy and drooping every couple of seconds. “Luna’s fine? That’s good. Could you call her, Aricoth?” Ku’rt whispered, “I want her... to know that I’m fine...”

I will call her, Ku’rt, the blue responded lowly. He sent the green fire lizard a quick message, telling her to come but to be quiet, because His was tired, and didn’t need to be distracted. It was moments later that the green flitter popped in from between, not even finishing a circle in the air before landing on the table next to Ku’rt’s bed. Luna is here, Aricoth felt compelled to tell the weyrling, though he was sure Ku’rt already noticed.

“Thank you, Aricoth.” Ku’rt moved a arm towards the flitter, and Luna inched closer, chirping sadly. She licked at his finger, and Ku’rt smiled. “Good girl, Luna. You were smart,” he praised the flitter, slowly scratching at her chin as she arched her back in pleasure at being praised, and from the weyrling’s actions.

What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V? - Page 4 Empty Re: What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V?

Post  PhazonDragon Fri Nov 26, 2010 8:01 pm

Vincent was particularly adamant about looking at the pictures and illustrations in the book that Lawrence had pulled off of the shelves. The blue flitter nosed his way down Lawrence’s arm and sniffed at the thin pages of the book. As if understanding, the young fire lizard chirped a quiet protest when Lawrence tried to turn the page before he was finished. “Alright, alright. Calm down...” the bronze weyrling murmured. There was a short silence before someone called out his name.

”Lawrence!”

The weyrling’s head shot up, eyes wide, and he glanced around the room. They were in a library! Didn’t they know to be quiet? As the initial shock of the sudden outburst wore off, Lawrence’s eyes narrowed. Really now? Vincent squawked at the weyrling’s lack of interest in the book, though Glitch was content to nuzzle closer to Lawrence. However, he sat up, twisting in his seat, and spotted the owner of the voice that distracted him. “... Shasta.” There was a distinct frown on his face. He didn’t want to be disturbed. That’s why he hid in the library.

And again, he felt Elonverrilth’s intrusion into his mind. No doubt to tell him to be nice. The bronze was always watching out for him--it was starting to get on his nerves. Yet Lawrence knew that if he just listened to Elonverrilth, he wouldn’t have these problems... Inhaling deeply, Lawrence forced his face into a smile. “Hi Shasta,” the weyrling managed to spit out.

As if feeling the annoyance from His, Boomerang circled down from his location in the air, perching on Lawrence’s shoulder, and crooning soothingly into his ear. Ignoring Vincent’s attempt to nip at the weyrling’s fingers, Lawrence reached up to pet the bronze flitter’s head, more for his own comfort than the fire lizard’s.
