Re: What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V?
[ooc: Very, very, very late post, but anyway.]
If you want something done right, you’ll have to do it yourself. That was the thought running through Eolus’ mind as his gryphon backwinged, and landed with a graceful manner. Face twisted into a frown, the Wing Commander slid off of Saialei’s back, and patted the red amber’s feathered head. “I’ll only be a bit. You know how it is,” he said to the gryphon. “Pester one of the guards for some food if you’re hungry. And if they don’t listen, well... You know.” His voice trailing off, Eolus tilted his head at the gryphon, giving him a sly smile, and turning his back.
“Oh, they won’t be able to ignore the handsome me,” the red amber replied as his rider walked away. He clicked his beak in satisfaction, folding his wings against his back. While Eolus went off to ‘speak’ with a certain border guard, Saialei trotted over to where a man stood off to the side, ready to serve the Imperial Wing Commander--certainly not his gryphon, but he was going to have to listen to the red amber or else.
With Saialei able to fend for himself, Eolus adjusted the rapier at his side. The trusty sword was hardly left behind, and in mint condition, despite use. Shaking his head to flip a stray bang out of his eyes, Eolus came up from behind, eerily lurking behind a gate guard as he dealt with a traveler at the gate. “Excuse me,” he said calmly, startling the man. “May I?” Without waiting for an answer, the Wing Commander stepped up to the gate, looking the rugged sword-for-hire up and down. Instinct told him something didn’t fit, despite the perfect look of the outfit.
“Long live the Emperor,” Eolus repeated with a nod. “Just passing through? Can’t be too harmful, now can you?” He sneered inwardly. Chaldor. A filthy-looking one, not to mention the sorry state of his mount. He sure needed work, didn’t he? "Might I be the first to welcome you to the splendid country of Kian? You can't get much better than this."

Ryuu yawned, laying outside under a tree, 'Skipping class was the best thing that ever happened to me,' he thought a light smile on his lips.
“You think you can get away that easily?” a familiar voice spoke up, “Come on, something is happening in the school.” Ryuu got up and walked into the school, following the blue haired kid.
“Sid, seriously,” Ryuu said putting his hands behind his head, “There is no time to deal with your...” he stopped and looked at the people gathering around in the halls.

Re: What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V?
It wasn’t long after the initial Imprinting of the copper chick to Caelidon that the Fledgling Instructor called for the first lesson. He still had yet to name the gryphon, but at the moment, she was pleased to eat the strips of meat that the young man was feeding her. Before leaving the hall to attend the lesson, rather lately, I might add, Cael stopped to grab some food. He wasn’t about to let the gryphon go hungry and complain during the lesson. And he was the last to Imprint--he had a bit of leeway to get to the lesson, right?
“Where are we going?” the copper said as soon as she swallowed. “And you haven’t given me a na--” She cut herself off as Cael held out a piece of meat for her again. Ravenously, the gryphon chick snatched the meat out of the boy’s hand, barely missing his fingers. She chewed briefly, mostly involving her shaking her head to tenderize the food, and then gulped it down whole. “More?” she chirped, opening her beak beckoningly.
Flashing the gryphon a wry smile, Caelidon obliged, hand-feeding the chick still, though he was wary of losing fingers, despite what the copper had said before. And now about a name... “Oh, I don’t know... Lyra?” he chanced, squinting a bit and tilting his head to look at the copper gryphon. “Nova? Um...” For once in his life, Caelidon was speechless, unable to form the perfect name for the little gryphon. “I could pick a Kianese name...” Cael reflected, remembering how much he would love to visit his home country again, hopefully in better times.
The young female clicked her beak while the pair walked, and finished off the remainder of the food that Cael brought with him. “I like Nova,” she offered helpfully. “What’s ‘Kianese’? Is that going to be my name? I’m not sure that I like it... But if you do, that’s okay!” The copper stopped talking as they approached the other fledglings, however, Cael could tell she was eager to start. She paced impatiently until he placed a hand on her head.
“No, Kianese is not your name. It’s...” he glanced up from the gryphon to look and see if anyone was watching him. Of course, the chick was young and inexperienced. Would it be smart to tell her where Caelidon was from? She could blurt it out, alerting everyone to the fact that Cael wasn’t Ceresian. “Kian is a country to the east of here. They have some nice names I could pick from.” Rubbing his chin with his free hand, Cael wracked his brain for suitable names.
There were a number of nice ones he could pick, but he was dead-set on not having a flower or a gemstone for his gryphon’s name. If only he knew more about his father and his gryphon. He could have did a little tribute thing... No, wait. Names. A number of gods ran through Caelidon’s mind. “What about... Oinari?” he asked, looking back down at the gryphon. “The spirit of rice, fertility, and agriculture. Do you like that?”
“Oinari? I like that. Very much!” She opened her light-colored beak in a gryphon-grin, glancing upwards at Caelidon. “It is a good name. You like it too, I hope? Will we be starting the lesson soon...? I don’t want to wait any longer.” Oinari purred, her head twisting around to look at the other gryphons gathered. She stared wide-eyed at the elder gryphons leaving the delivery hall, clearly interested in if she would grow to be that big.
The copper was pleased with her name, and Cael nodded in agreement. “I like the name, of course, otherwise I wouldn’t have picked it for you. I don’t know when we’ll start, but I hope soon as well.” He scratched at the feathers on the copper’s head, glancing around at the other fledglings. There was one sphynx that Imprinted a gryphon, and the rest were humans. Each of the other fledglings, Caelidon knew from lessons, though he knew some better than others. Specifically Iella, with her little tanzanite. Spirit, was it? That red amber that the sphynx had looked like a handful, though, Cael noted with raised eyebrows.

Re: What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V?
Various experiments have studied the connection between personality traits and social functioning, particularly in relation to moral judgment and the treatment of others as identified by Eysenck’s Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) (Gibson, 1990; Zaleski, Eysenck, & Eysenck, 1995; Skoe, 2010). Eysenck and group reported on the attitudes towards marginal social groups of people from different subsections of personality traits (Zaleski, Eysenck, & Eysenck, 1995). Zaleski et al. (1995) demonstrated that high scorers on the EPQ extraversion scale represented more tolerance and compassionate attitudes towards marginal social groups while high scorers on the psychoticism scale demonstrated more negative and oppressive attitudes towards these groups. The correlations noted by Zaleski et al. (1995) between extraversion, neuroticism and psychoticism and the attitudes toward the socially marginal groups were statistically significant, however they were very low with r values ranging from -0.18 to 0.31.

Re: What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V?
Rat nodded absent-mindedly, placing the cell phone on a small shelf next to him and resumed the rhythmic clicking of his long nails striking his keyboard at a speed that the eye couldn't follow. Without taking his eyes off his screen, he spoke emotionlessly. "Gazelle, keep your eyes and ears to yourself. Especially when there's a room full of angry rats involved." As if on cue, one of the larger rats attacked Gazelle's foot, tiny claws scraping against it.

Friday was a little bit surprised to see Bat, but didn't didn't puff up with immediate dislike like she usually does when around people. Friday gave a bark of greeting to Bat, then glared Lynx, as if to say, 'Why can't you be like him?' She turned rudely, getting up on her haunches ( which made her about chest-height ) and grasped the knob, opening the door skillfully. She scuttled inside, and not much later, came out with a sort of mechanical brush in her jaws. She pointed it at Lynx's boot, then bit down. A red ray shot out of the front, coating the toe of the boot with a layer of plaster. ( It won't damage it, but it'll take a while to scrap off. <3 )

Re: What's on YOUR Ctrl-V/Command-V?
Minstrel Firesong
Finding himself at the Imprinting Banquet, Firesong held his lyre-guitar in the crook of his arm. This time, as always, the more common gryphons had their Imprinting end on a happier note. Five chicks Imprinted upon a candidate of their choice, out of the nine chicks from the three litters open to the candidates. Not a bad number, considering last years, and the hatching earlier on that didn’t go quite as well as planned, or hoped for. Firesong shifted his instrument to his other arm. And rumor had it that a sphynx Imprinted this time, though two were left behind as candidates. Hopefully, they would find a suitable partner before reaching the age limit.
As such, Firesong was eager to meet this new sphynx fledgling. He already knew a number of the sphynxes in the Skyguard, simply by playing at their banquets, so one more couldn’t hurt. However, he had yet to see this new fledgling, so until then, the minstrel had to occupy himself with the job he was given: playing music. With the banquet being held outside as well as inside, to the sphynx’s enjoyment, he once again picked a spot outside, and under a tree. Nodding to a few of the servants rushing around, the sphynx made his way over to sit cross-legged on the grass in the shade of a tree.
He took a moment to tune his lyre-guitar, holding the instrument up to his large and fuzzy ear, and strumming a few of the strings. Wincing when the third string went a bit sour, Firesong made a mental note to change the string later. He was really pushing his luck here with the worn string, but with any luck it would hold out for the rest of the banquet and into the night. Once satisfied with the strings, Firesong leaned back and began to play.
Fledgling Caelidon and Copper Oinari
Though Caelidon was tired with the day’s activities, he couldn’t keep himself from going to the banquet being held in the new fledgling’s honor. And he probably couldn’t keep Oinari from going either. The young copper kept yawning, but was bouncing around the place in her eagerness to get to the banquet. Despite Cael’s suggestions, the gryphon wasn’t about to head off to bed. Of course, that would mean that she would sleep the morning away tomorrow, leaving Cael to his own duties. Yet, if he was going to be up as late, or later, he’d be in the same boat.
He heard the banquet was going to be both inside and outside, due to the nice weather and clear skies. Oinari seemed thrilled by that prospect as well, already disliking the idea of being stuck inside when there was so much freedom outside. “Nari, you know you’ll have to stay inside when it rains, when there’s a bad storm, and other situations...?” he had asked the gryphon. She made a face at him, sitting down on her haunches and made a few noises that passed off as ones of annoyance and mimicry.
Upon entering the banquet hall, the copper’s amethyst eyes lit up as they darted around the room. All the food on the table, and the people. There were so many people. “Cael!” she suddenly yelled out, “Cael Cael Cael, let’s go outside. There’s more room! And there must be more people. This is good. I like this.” Oinari bounded between tables, leaving Caelidon in the dust. She the gryphon chick weaved in and out of the tables and chairs, she was barely paying attention to where she was going, and suddenly barreled into another gryphon.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! You’re not hurt are you?” Nari asked. She was now on her back, limbs flailing in the arm, and wings twitching. “That was fun though, wasn’t it? Can I do that again?” The copper rolled over and stood, peering at the gryphon she ran into.
