Vulture Lion

This only ever showed up once in the series--the episode where they detailed what had happened to Appa after his kidnapping--but I remembered it, and I think it's just straight up awesome.


Obviously, it's essentially just a gryphon with vulture parts instead of eagle parts, but I still think it's really, really neat.

Current Sprites:

Newborn Hatchling:--SSB
Leetle Egg:--SSB

I'd like to see these made into albinos.

Well, if they are sprited and I get permission, I can make them into albinos.

Skie took a shot at spriting it.
This is the first time I've tried shading in this style--I'm usually a smooth shader--so I've got a lineart right in there in case someone who's better at it wants to take a shot. Especially on the wings.


So yeah, that means you awesome shaders are free to take a crack at coloring this guy in or tweaking with my inexperienced job. I'm going to get cracking on the hatchlings.

Daaaww, I'm flattered, and I might end up being regular, appointed or not. I've got quite a bit of spare time when I'm not in school, and even some during.

--But the offer still stands, if someone knows they can do better, go for it.

Definitely not me, I can't shade for beans, lol. I mean, I could try, but it might look bad. >.<

Edit: I'm giving it a shot. Btw, I added a third toe to the left foot. It looked a bit odd with just two.

Edit: Aw ****, Adobe Photoshop stopped responding and shut down in the middle of working on the sprite. *Cries* I was almost done too. Screw it, someone else can try to color it.

I also attempted to fix the tail up a bit. It just seems a tad skinny near the end of it.

I also fixed some shading issues in the wing. And I made 3 fingers on each paw.

Sure, and just edit some shading on them and they'll be perfect

I'm still iffy on my shading, so if you see something that you can fix or improve, still feel free to go for it, but right now I'm going back to watching the Avatar marathon on my cable.

I'll make some descriptions:

Egg: "This egg is small with brown spots. It seems like it wants to hatch as soon as it can"
Hatchie (1): "A little vulture lion baby hatched from the egg you found, it likes to move around but it gets tired quickly. It has wings, but it doesn't know how to use them correctly yet."
Hatchie 2): "The vulture lion baby has gotten bigger and more active. It now can fly a little. For some reason it is interested in weakened creatures."

I'll make an adult description later.
