I like the sprites so far. Though you don't need the comma in the egg description. Smile

Nice shading, but you should round the lines up a bit. If you let me, may I try doing that or would you like to?

the wing shading needs to be fixed. The legs are too thin. And I can't tell that it has other legs other than the 3 it's showing. Why don't you show the tips of the other legs?

If I can say so, I think the shading needs to be smoothed out just a little bit--it looks too much like a low-res picture, and the textures aren't any different on different surfaces--if you can do something similar to what was done on the wings--smooth it out and make it look appropriately textured--it'll be top-notch.

Also, anatomy, since Phazon isn't around:

You're missing the far sided legs for the female--they should be visible.
The females head and beak aren't in sync--the way the beak is coming out of the head doesn't match up right to the position the head is in. I think that's what I'm trying to say, anyway.
The females abdomen is also kindof lopsided, like she's bloated or been squished.

The male's foremost leg is covered by something--I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a belly marking, but it makes it look like a fourth leg on the other side. Also, one looks like it connects to the abdomen, and not the torso-part. That's not how bugs work, and even if it's just a visual trick it should be changed.
The male's neck looks too thin and long for the size of his head. I've only taken basic physics but it looks like it'd snap in half, or have too thin of vertebrae to support itself.
His wings are also looking too small for his size. Not bad, but just a little bit too small.

OK, here is the male:

I suppose I can fix the shading once anatomy issues are resolved.

The wings themselves are what's putting me off the most. I feel like they should be more... transparent. They probably shouldn't have that obvious of an outline, not to mention that they look like they aren't connected to the back of the creature either. Well, in particular, that back wing on the male. :/ I do think that you got every other thing that Skie pointed out though, so yeh.

If feel like you could add a few shades to the shading too. And the highlights a bit as well. It looks like flat colors to me still, though I like the texture you have going there. And the wings... Might need a bit of smoothing out? I'm not sure. I'm not an expert on insect wings so if someone else says otherwise, I assume they know more than me. XD

The wings are really complicated.

First of all, the wings are never still, you always see after images, and the transparency is really hard to sprite.

Yeah, I understand that, but those wings feel too solid and opaque. I'm not a great spriter, myself, but maybe if you added motion blur or let some of the body of the creature come through the wings, that would help? /tossing out ideas. It can't hurt to try, can it?

I have Adobe Photoshop, so I could easily make the wings transparent when they are fixed.
