Not enough people.

I need to do some serious inviting of literate roleplayers! I've seen roleplays here dumb down to one liners that were supposed to be very literate RPs. There is just not enough people here to have a good literate RP going. People start inviting more!

-waves hand around- I'm a literate roleplayer. I just am insanely picky about the RPs I join. And I'm not exactly interested in joining an Avatar roleplay at the moment, so nobody try to push one on me. :P I'm more in the mood for original roleplays, and I was thinking of starting one myself, but I think I have the same problem as you--no one literate enough for my standards... >_>

Same. I knew when I started Year of the Dragon that I'd have to make sacrifices, which is fine, but that's why I don't intend to join any new RPs (Avatar or otherwise) unless there is some serious skill in there.

I figure I'll have to lower my own standards as well, but they're not that high to begin with.

There's also the problem of me being a part of other roleplays, so I need to be able to divide up my attention... And still produce good-quality posts for each one. :I

I really don't want to lower anything. For it to be a truly good roleplay, it needs to be done right, with lots of description and meaning.

Of course, but if you're not willing to make changes and participation isn't what you want it to be, you just have to be patient. This forum is still really small, after all; we don't even have 100 members yet. You could always go around and try to recruit people who show the kind of skill you're looking for, so that you can hopefully build up a nice demographic of what you're expecting from your game.

Yeah that's what I plan on doing. I'll go on gaia and start roleplaying more there and put links to Avadopts in my signature. That should help at least a bit. I hope that more people try stuff like that too.
